Artist's
Statement
Creating
is serious fun for me as I design richly coloured, densely
stitched fibre artworks. Working from my home studio in
Guelph, I construct with a pallette of jewel-like tones
using silk or hand-dyed cottons, enhanced with decorative
threads when stitching by hand or machine.
My
inspiration and motivation come from many sources - the
environment, political issues, other women’s lives and
every day objects of beauty and rapture. Passion drives me
forward as I celebrate a life in textiles.
