Hippie Connections
Lambton Gallery Lambton
Bayside Centre
150 North Christina Street
Sarnia, ON

September 1 to October 13, 2007

In this show the artists of Connections commented on aspects of the Hippie movement and its lingering influences in the world of today.

"Click" for larger image. This show was a contemporary comment on the hippie movement, i.e., what it meant to society then and what it means to us today. Did it change anything in our society? What concerns did they have then that we share today? What has changed since then - what hasn't?

Connections artists worked on themes like the introduction of the pill and how that changed female roles; war protests; environmental concerns; female equality and human rights. Have attitudes changed that much over the last 40 to 45 years?
