Nancy Yule Peace
The aroma of melting beeswax. Intoxicating. Playing with fire. Seductive. Coaxing wax to alter its’ form; solid to liquid is what I love to do.
The term encaustic means to burn in. Fusing layers of beeswax combined with resin. Encaustic Wax. An enduring medium with an unequivocal lustre and richness. I am humbled with the complexity of this organic material and privileged to create artwork with it.
I work intuitively building layers of shape, colour, symbolism and abstract compositioncombining two unique mediums: fibre art and encaustic wax.
Honoured to be able to say, I have shown my work in solo and group exhibitions. In addition, art shows such as: One of a Kind Craft Show, Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition and Toronto Art Expo.
My home studio in Cambridge, ON is my happy place surrounded with family and my three miniature dachshunds.
